An innovative process from start to finish, exploring what a basketball utopia might look like. It took a collaborative design and technical effort to realize the final vision from a completely blank canvas, made possible by ESPN and Arts and Letters. Drawing on reference from across the spectrum of utopian styles, we chiseled away during each step to find semiotic relationships between NBA players, their motivations, teams, and the sporting community as a whole. Using Unreal Engine, each shot was tailored to the featured players, and bound together by an edit initially created from in-game footage.
